Kim Kardashian stepped out at the DVF Awards in Venice, Italy on Thursday night wearing a sheer gray Maison Margiela couture look that left fans scratching their heads.
The floor-length creation, fresh off the fall 2025 couture runway, featured diaphanous draping, a cape that trailed dramatically behind her as she walked and a neckline that cinched tighter than a corset. But it was the unusual bodice details that had Instagram buzzing.
Fashion Bomb Daily shared a video of the look on Instagram, and commenters didn’t hold back.
“What in the Bene Gesserit camel toe is going on here 😮,” one fan wrote, referencing the “Dune” universe’s cloaked sisterhood.
“All I see are sheets and wedgies,” another quipped.
“My cooter is annoyed by this,” a third declared.
Though the Skims founder, 44, opted out of the face-covering hood that the French fashion house’s new designer, Glenn Martens, sent down the Paris runway, another fan couldn’t help but see something spooky about the ensemble.
“What in the American Horror Story is this??” they wrote.
Others came to Kim’s defense, calling the Margiela moment avant-garde. “I like the drama baby 🔥🔥🔥,” one admirer said, while another wrote, “oh this is lowkey stunning.”
The fashion theatrics weren’t just for show: the reality star was in Venice to receive the prestigious DVF Leadership Award for her work with criminal justice reform — and used the spotlight to slam Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
“Protect the people who have really supported and built our country,” she told a roundtable of journalists before accepting her honor.
The award was presented to her by Chris Young, a man she helped free from a life sentence in prison 11 years after he was sentenced for a low-level drug offense.
The mother-daughter duo have been vacationing in Italy this week.
The dramatic Margiela gown is the latest in a whirlwind Italian style tour for Kardashian.
On Thursday, she made headlines for her Venice arrival outfit: a slinky black hooded gown and stilettos, while 12-year-old daughter North West donned a gray pinstriped short-sleeved top and matching miniskirt adorned with safety pins.
Earlier this week, the duo were photographed out and about in Rome, the tween in long blue pigtails and an array of edgy outfits (including one divisive corset) and the reality star in crop tops, thong sandals and slinky slip dresses.
We can’t help but wonder if the “American Horror Story” alum will make an appearance on the Venice Film Festival red carpet for a premiere.
