Caitlin Clark BREAKS 4 WNBA RECORDS As Indiana Fever BLOWOUT Paige Bueckers & Dallas Wings
For five years, basketball fans have watched one of the most legendary rivalries unfold. Caitlin Clark of WNBA Indiana Fever versus Paige Bueckers of Dallas Wings. High school phenoms who chose different paths – Clark to Iowa, Bueckers to UConn.
Critics like Geno Auriemma questioned if Clark could translate her success to the WNBA.
These two faced off for the first time as pros when the Indiana Fever hosted the Dallas Wings. But what happened next wasn’t just a game – it was Clark making history in a way that only she has ever done twice.
The first chapter of the Caitlin Clark vs. Paige Bueckers WNBA rivalry has been written.
After memorable performances from both stars, it was the Indiana Fever who emerged with a dominant victory against the Dallas Wings, 102-83.
Clark won the battle, finishing with a 14-point, 13-assist double-double with three rebounds, five steals, a block and two triples. Bueckers, on the other hand, had to settle for a tough loss after dropping a game-high 21 points, with four rebounds, four dimes, two steals and two triples.
There was a lot of anticipation ahead of the first-ever WNBA meeting between Clark and Bueckers, and it would probably be safe to say that the fans were not left disappointed.
Even Fever head coach Stephanie White had to heap praise on the two young stars and what they have achieved thus far.
“I’m thankful that we’ll have a lot of young people in the stands who can continue to watch the way Caitlin and Paige go about their business and the way they handle greatness,” White said, via Brian Haenchen of Indy Star. “They don’t see what they’ve done to get to this point, but I think both Caitlin and Paige do a good job of openly discussing the work that it takes.”

White then went on to make a bold comparison when talking about the impact of the Clark vs. Bueckers rivalry.
“Everybody wants to see star players,” White said. “Think about who tunes in to watch LeBron (James) vs. Steph (Curry), right? It’s those kinds of matchups. To watch Caitlin and Paige go against each other for the first time in their WNBA careers is going to be special.”
One could argue that the James vs. Curry matchup in the NBA remains one of, if not the biggest, draws in the sport right now. For White to compare Clark and Bueckers to these two future Hall of Famers is daring, to say the least. Nevertheless, this does not mean that she isn’t right, especially after witnessing the type of reception Clark and Bueckers’ first matchup got from basketball fans across the globe.
