WNBA Makes Caitlin Clark Announcement After Fever-Dream Game

The Indiana Fever bested the Atlanta Dream in their final preseason matchup before heading to the regular season. Brittney Griner had to walk off early on, followed by Sophie Cunningham at halftime due to a right ankle injury. Post game WNBA made an appreciative announcement.

They posted from their official account on X(formerly Twitter) that Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull were the top scorers for the game, saying, “Lexie Hull and Caitlin Clark powered the @IndianaFever to an undefeated preseason finish on the road! ⚡️”

Clark chipped in 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists and drilled three triples in 23 minutes. Hull, on the other hand, tallied 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 14 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Indiana built an early lead and withstood an Atlanta rally to maintain control down the stretch. Hull’s 11 fourth-quarter points, including two on a fastbreak and another on a step-back jumper, staked the Fever to a 79–74 advantage with under two minutes remaining.

Despite the loss, Atlanta’s rookie guard Te-Hina Paopao flashed promise, pouring in 14 points (including 3-for-4 from deep) in 21 minutes and matching Clark with a highlight-reel step-back triple early in the second quarter.

With preseason complete, the Fever open the regular season at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 17, against the Chicago Sky, while the Dream travel to Washington for their game against the Mystics in their season opener.
